QR Code Generator for Adobe Illustrator
https://qr.latentspacetech.com

Makes QR codes for links, contact cards, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, text, email, calls
and SMS, and places them in your document as editable vector paths. Works in
Illustrator 2022 or newer, on Mac and Windows. Free, and nothing you type
leaves your computer.

INSTALL

Mac
  Double-click "Install on Mac.command".
If macOS says it can't be opened, right-click it, choose Open, then Open.

Windows
  Double-click "Install on Windows.bat".
If Windows protects your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.

Then restart Illustrator and open Window > Extensions > QR Code Generator.

The panel isn't signed through Adobe's marketplace, so the installer switches
on Adobe's setting for loading unsigned panels (PlayerDebugMode).

INSTALL BY HAND

Copy the "com.latentspacetech.qr" folder into:
  Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
  Windows: %APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions\

Then turn on unsigned panels:
  Mac (Terminal):
    for v in 9 10 11 12; do defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.$v PlayerDebugMode 1; done
  Windows (Command Prompt):
    for %v in (9 10 11 12) do reg add HKCU\Software\Adobe\CSXS.%v /v PlayerDebugMode /t REG_SZ /d 1 /f

USING IT

- Fill in the content, set the width, and click Place QR code. It lands in
  the centre of the view.
- Select a QR code you placed earlier and the button replaces it, keeping
  its position, size and logo.
- "Leave space for a logo" clears the middle. Select your logo artwork
before placing and a copy is scaled into the gap.
- In CMYK documents black prints as 100% K rather than rich black.
- Scan the code with your phone before you send anything to print.

UNINSTALL

Delete the com.latentspacetech.qr folder from the extensions folder above.
